ART AT SEA

Whether it’s to shoot stills or short films, my happy place is always in the water back home in Hawai’i, underwater housing in hand, capturing beautiful, transient images of people, or simply the ocean itself. It is the most physically challenging work that I create, but the images are some of my favorites and I am excited to start sharing more of this work soon.

I titled this piece, “Pause” because I imagine her freezing this moment in time. That amidst the push and pull of the ocean, as in life, there is this beautiful, serene pause.

RETURN TO NAM

A mini-doc inspired by our recent trip to Vietnam. Titled, “Return to Nam” because as much as it follows Nam’s journey back to Vietnam, it also reveals a coming home to himself; bookended by his memories— which in many ways have been rewritten—as is his understanding of Vietnam, his childhood, his family and identity.
